We are excited to announce that Mainsail will be attending KubeCon + CloudNativeCon North America 2024 in Salt Lake City! Mainsail has incorporated quantum-hardened keys and strong quantum-based entropy into our hypervisor, Metalvisor, for use in Confidential Computing with SUSE Rancher Prime. This integration of Mainsail and SUSE technologies allows organizations to enhance the confidentiality and integrity of their AI models and edge computations running on SUSE Rancher Prime, ensuring that sensitive data remains protected against potential breaches and advanced attacks like Harvest Now Decrypt Later (HNDL). Our solution secures data at all stages—at rest, in transit, and in use.

The Challenge

In today’s rapidly evolving digital landscape, organizations face several critical challenges:

  • Quantum Computing Threats: The advent of quantum computing poses significant risks to traditional encryption methods, making sensitive data vulnerable to decryption by malicious actors.
  • Data Breaches and HNDL Attacks: Sophisticated attacks like Harvest Now Decrypt Later exploit stored encrypted data, aiming to decrypt it when technology advances allow.
  • Protecting AI Models and Edge Computing: As AI models become more integral to business operations, ensuring their confidentiality and integrity is paramount, especially when deployed at the edge.

How we address this challenge

Mainsail’s integration with SUSE Rancher Prime directly addresses these challenges:

  • Quantum-Hardened Keys: By incorporating quantum-resistant encryption, we protect against current and future quantum computing threats.
  • Strong Quantum-Based Entropy: Enhances the randomness in key generation, making encryption keys more secure and less susceptible to attacks.
  • Comprehensive Data Protection: Secures data at rest, in transit, and in use, mitigating risks associated with HNDL attacks.
  • Secure AI and Edge Deployments: Ensures that AI models and edge computations maintain their confidentiality and integrity, even in hostile environments.
  • Seamless Integration with SUSE Technologies: Leveraging SUSE Linux Micro, RKE2, and SUSE Rancher Prime, combined with Mainsail’s Metalvisor, provides a robust and secure platform for containerized applications.
